Andrew's birthday

So I know I'm a bad blogger. And it is WAY past Andrew's birthday, but I felt the need to play catch up today. Lucky you! So Andrew turned 4 on August 10th. I can't believe how big he has gotten and I am in total shock of some of the things he can do and say. It's hard for me to believe that it's been 4 years since I was holding a tiny baby in my arms and being so taken with him. He was such a beautiful baby! And I do mean that he was beautiful. Lots of hair. And so cute!

What's wild is that this time next year he will be in school. Where has the time gone? At the time he was into spider man so Grandma made him the cake.

We had some guests over and had cake and opened presents.

Yesterday...

I had decided to take a quick shower (yes I do get to shower occasionally!) since all the kids were in Emma's room playing nicely. I figured I could sneak in there and they wouldn't even know the difference. Well, I almost made it in the door when Andrew came out. So I told him what I was going to do and asked him to play nice with his sisters until I got done. I didn't find out until I had been out of the shower for a little while that Andrew had some "yellow cake that was yummy." I thought about it and I hadn't made any and then I realized what he was meaning. When mom had made Paisley's cake there was some leftover icing. And since then, Andrew has opened every single one of those (while I was out of the room) and either eaten them of gotten them on the floor. There were 3 or 4 different colors. Anyhow, all of them were gone except for the yellow one. That was no longer the case. So I asked him where it was. When he told me it was in Emma's room I was planning on it being all over the floor. But when I walked in I saw Paisley on Emma's bed looking like this.

I'm guessing she remembered what it was and went to town. Needless to say she got a bath shortly after this picture.
Later on I gave the older kids some grapes to eat and I was sitting at the computer when Emma came up to me with grapes in her mouth. I tried to get a picture before she bit into them, but I couldn't so I got her to do it again and when Andrew saw he had to get in on the fun. We laughed for quite a while.

The picture is a little fuzzy, but I had to do it fast before she chomped down.

This was the best one of Andrew's. The whole smiling thing cracked me up.You can see the pudginess in this one better.

I thought this was a sweet picture of Emma. She was trying not to smile, but she couldn't hide it. She's growing up so quick!

This picture was taken the day I cut Andrew's hair. I thought it was kinda funny so I had to share. Yes that's one of my little ladies! Cheese!

This was a first...

I decided that it was time for Andrew to get his hair cut. This is not an unusually thing since he's had trims and haircuts since he was 3 months old. (Yes I know I have hairy kids!) Anyhow, when you make a decision like that and you have NO money it makes for a difficult time. Especially since his hair looked like this...

Really shabby. So I decided to take it upon myself and buzz his hair. So I called up James and asked him what he thought. He said that he didn't want me to do it cause he figured Andrew would decide half way through that he was done with me messing with it and wouldn't let me finish. I assured James this wouldn't happen and got the go ahead of sorts. Now I'm going to do something that I don't have to do very often, but I was wrong and James was right. But I did complete the task. This is what his hair is like now.

Here's the side view. Much better from the first pictures. Then two days later he decided to do this to his face. I guess getting the hair out of his face didn't help like I thought!

Thank goodness he didn't get any closer to his eye! Just a side note, metal hangers are not to be played with. Ask Andrew, he'll tell you it's not a good idea.

Forgot!

I forgot to add this yesterday when I was putting all the stuff for Paisley's birthday. Here she is digging in the cake. Quite funny.

Paisley is one!!!!

I can't believe it, but my baby is now 1. Time goes by quickly. We waited to have a party for her until family could be down to help us celebrate. My mom decorated the cake for us. It's a family tradition that the one year old gets their own cake to demolish. Andrew kind of picked at his and Emma did okay, but I have to say that Paisley was the one that was the funnest.

Tennessee Trip

We went and visited Aunt Cathy, Uncle Brooks, Josie, Grandpa, and Uncle Mark a couple of weeks ago. We had tons of fun and got to see and do lots of stuff. I was worn out! I think the kids might have been too, but they had fun. We got to go to the Knoxville Zoo 2 times, the Little Ponderosa Petting Zoo (where we had a hands on experience), a discovery center, and this awesome fountain at the World's Fair Park. Here are a few of the million pictures we took.

Goats!

This is a camel from the petting zoo. It was just a baby. Funny story, while we were at the Knoxville Zoo Paisley was bitten by their baby camel. So when we saw this one a couple of days later, she cried any time we got close to it. And I mean she was hysterical! Poor thing has been ruined to them for a while.

This is the tower at the World's Fair Park. We went to the 4th floor of the ball and took some cool pictures.
